CKRe In Africa

We now deal with more than 100 companies right across Africa. The growth we have seen in our business is down to our ability to design treaty contracts that specifically fit the needs of our ceding clientele, and to constantly keep these under review. On facultative business our fast response time and completion of all documentation is highly valued by our cedants.

We attempt to illustrate our commitment to our Cedants by assisting them with the placement of small accounts, in the full knowledge that when the larger ones arrive CKRe will be their first choice as reinsurance broker.

With the current high level of Chinese investment in African countries we are able to provide a local service to companies in China through affiliate brokers there and can also arrange for some of the risks in Africa to be reinsured back into the Chinese market.

Our policy of supporting the African continent's reinsurance industry with African reinsurance business also cements our commitment to principles laid down many years ago by international agencies anxious to see a growth in domestic insurance premium retention. We are proud to state that over 80% of our African reinsurance business is placed back into premier African reinsurance markets. We have furthered our support of African reinsurance companies to now include the placement of business from The Middle East and India into African reinsurance markets.

As will be noted from our Special Products section, we have designed products to meet the specific requirements of many African countries, and have in addition developed new reinsurance markets for these products. Capacity is provided by substantial and established reinsurers, who are seeking to reduce their own reliance on highly competitively rated American and European business. There are very few risks for which reinsurance capacity cannot be obtained with good quality reinsurers.
